Smart Divorce was started in 2018 following Tamsin's experience with divorce; she now advises people in the same situation as she once was, enabling them to take back control of their life and finances. Tamsin is our main point of contact for all clients.

Tamsin Caine, our Director of Financial Planning and Chartered Financial Planner, has a strong background of over 20 years in the financial services profession. She began Smart Divorce following her own experience with divorce; she now advises people in the same situation as she once was, enabling them to take back control of their life and finances. Tamsin hosts The Smart Divorce Podcast and Smart Divorce YouTube channel. She also co-authored “Your Divorce Handbook; It’s What you Do Next That Counts”.
In 2022, she was awarded the Resolution award for Working in Collaboration and the Women in Financial Advice’s Financial Adviser of the Year – North West, as well as being shortlisted for the award for Working with Vulnerable Clients.
Tamsin is exceptionally well qualified. She is a:

- Resolution Accredited Divorce Specialist
- Holds a Masters in Financial Planning and Business Management
- Fellow of the Personal Finance Society
- Member of Resolution, co-chairing the Working Together Committee and sitting on the Greater Manchester regional committee

Michelle Reilly is our Practice Manager and the newest member of the team at Smart Financial, having joined us in April 2022.
Michelle is an International Compliance Association accredited professional with over 10 years’ experience in financial services.
During her career, Michelle has worked in financial compliance, financial crime and data protection, initially in an advisory and audit role and later being responsible for creating and delivering best practice training sessions to teams in both the UK and India.
Michelle has two young boys, Mason and Cian. In her spare time, she is a keen photographer, and enjoys spending time with her family, going for walks and keeping fit at the gym.
